On a 3-dimensional Lorentzian manifold, the sectional curvature function at any point may be represented as a rational function (quotient of two quadratics) on the real projective plane [2]. (More generally, the sectional curvature at a point of any pseudoRiemannian n-manifold may be represented as a rational function on the Grassmann variety of planes in n-space.) Using this representation, Beem and I [1] were able to generalize and/or rederive all previously known results on the values of pseudoriemannian sectional curvature in all dimensions ≥ 3. L. Cordero and I decided to work with this representation. We proposed that I spend a semester at Santiago de Compostela supported by the Spanish DGICYT, and it was approved for January-June 1991. During this period we produced three papers on the 3-dimensional problem. In [2] we determined the possible symmetry groups ofK at x; i.e., the largest subgroup of PGL(3) which leaves Kx invariant as a rational function on P2. We refer to any one of these as a sectional curvature symmetry, or SCS for short. Here is the list.

Motor-intentional disorders in right hemisphere stroke.
OBJECTIVE Damage to premotor and prefrontal regions results in motor-intentional disorders (MIDs) that disrupt initiation, maintenance, and termination of volitional movements. MIDs more frequently occur in right hemisphere rather than in left hemisphere injury. The aim of this study was to evaluate the prevalence of MIDs in patients with right hemisphere stroke and the factors that have influe...
متن کاملMinimally important difference estimates and methods: a protocol
INTRODUCTION Patient-reported outcomes (PROs) are often the outcomes of greatest importance to patients. The minimally important difference (MID) provides a measure of the smallest change in the PRO that patients perceive as important. An anchor-based approach is the most appropriate method for MID determination. No study or database currently exists that provides all anchor-based MIDs associat...
متن کاملTreating mitochondrial disorders requires full exploitation of available therapeutic options
We read with interest the review by El-Hattab et al. about treatment options for mitochondrial disorders (MIDs) [1]. We have the following comments and concerns. Though the review discusses some of the possible interventions in MIDs, a number of treatment options has not been addressed. Concerning CNS abnormalities, the option of antiepileptic drug (AED) therapy should be discussed, since many ...
متن کاملMinimal important differences for fatigue patient reported outcome measures—a systematic review
BACKGROUND Fatigue is the most frequent symptom reported by patients with chronic illnesses. As a subjective experience, fatigue is commonly assessed with patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs). Currently, there are more than 40 generic and disease-specific PROMs for assessing fatigue in use today. The interpretation of changes in PROM scores may be enhanced by estimates of the so-called min...
متن کاملVasculopathy in mitochondrial disorders
Objectives: Mitochondrial disorders (MIDs) are usually multisystem diseases and may manifest in addition to other systems also in the vasculature. Method: Literature review by using appropriate key words. Results: Vasculopathy in MIDs particularly manifests in arteries in form of a macroor microangiopathy. Direct evidence for microangiopathy in MIDs derives from the following findings: histolog...
